NATIONAL OFFICE
The Chaplaincy SA National Office is situated in Warner Beach, KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) and serves as the organization’s central administrative and coordinating office. Our staff are committed to supporting registered members, assisting individuals interested in joining Chaplaincy SA, providing guidance on training and membership, and coordinating the organization’s services, programs, branches, and operational activities. Chaplaincy SA currently operates through a growing national network of 64 satellite offices across all nine provinces of South Africa, bringing administrative support, pastoral care, community outreach, trauma support, and chaplaincy services closer to the communities we serve. Our reach also extends beyond South Africa, with satellite offices in Zambia, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Botswana, and Lesotho, strengthening regional cooperation and support for chaplaincy ministry. Our Main National Training Centre is situated in Pretoria, supported by 19 satellite training centers located in different areas of South Africa.
These training centers make Chaplaincy SA training more accessible to prospective and existing chaplains and provide opportunities for structured development, practical training, specialized courses, and continued professional growth. Through our National Office, satellite offices, training centers, provincial structures, branches, officers, and chaplains, Chaplaincy SA works to maintain a professional, organized, and accessible national chaplaincy service dedicated to serving individuals, families, communities, organizations, first responders, and other sectors throughout South Africa.

Chaplaincy SA understands that trauma, crisis, loss, emergencies, and pastoral needs do not always occur during normal office hours. Our Chaplaincy Support Services remain available to provide assistance, guidance, pastoral support, and appropriate referral when required.

MEET THE NATIONAL TEAM
Dr Johan Rademeyer - National Director of Chaplaincy SA
Responsible for the national leadership, strategic direction, development, administration, training oversight, partnerships, and continued growth of Chaplaincy SA throughout South Africa and Africa.
Cmdr. Dr Gary Palm - Chief Operational Commander
Responsible for overseeing Chaplaincy SA’s national operations, coordinating operational activities, and supporting effective service delivery. Responsibilities include financial oversight, financial administration and planning, resource management, and organizational accountability.
Cmdr. Dr. Steve Welz - Financial Officer
Responsible for financial oversight, financial administration, organizational accountability, financial planning, and supporting the effective management of Chaplaincy SA’s national operations.
Cmdr. Adrian Boshoff - Chaplaincy Liaison
Responsible for assisting with communication and liaison between Chaplaincy SA, members, branches, external organizations, community structures, and other relevant stakeholders.
Cmdr. Charlene Helberg - HR Administrator
Responsible for supporting human resources administration, member records, personnel administration, appointments, internal documentation, and related National Office administrative functions.
Cmdr. Prof. David Mabusha - Board Member
Serves as a member of the Chaplaincy SA leadership and governance structure, providing guidance, professional input, oversight, and support toward the organization’s national objectives.
Advocate Chris Mahlape - Board Member
Serves as a member of the Chaplaincy SA Board, contributing legal insight, governance guidance, strategic oversight, and professional advice to support the organization’s national leadership, policies, accountability, and continued development
NATIONAL SUPPORT NETWORK
The National Head Office is supported by 64 satellite offices throughout South Africa, the Main National Training Centre in Pretoria, and 19 satellite training centers operating in different regions. Together, our National Office, leadership team, provincial structures, branches, satellite offices, training centers, officers, and chaplains work toward one common purpose: to provide professional, compassionate, ethical, and accessible chaplaincy services to communities throughout South Africa.
