The Chaplaincy SA Training Division provides professional, faith-based training that prepares Community Chaplains for meaningful service across South Africa. Our chaplains are equipped to serve in communities, hospitals, schools, emergency services, correctional facilities, care centers and many other specialized environments. Training is available through flexible online learning, interactive classroom sessions, practical workshops and specialized short courses. Online students can study at their own pace, in their own place, with no time limit to complete their training. Chaplaincy SA has 19 training centers throughout South Africa, with its main National Training Centre located in Pretoria. Students receive continuous guidance and support while developing practical skills in trauma care, crisis intervention, hospital chaplaincy, suicide prevention, grief and bereavement, domestic violence, victim support, emergency-scene response and many other specialized areas of service.

After completing the required training, Community Chaplains may become involved in more than 70 different specialized units. This allows every chaplain to serve in an area that matches their calling, passion, experience and the needs of their community.Our programs combine spiritual care with practical knowledge, compassionate communication and professional conduct. CHAPLAINCY SA SHORT COURSE DIVISION

The Chaplaincy SA Short Course Division provides practical, faith-based training for chaplains, pastors, ministry leaders, volunteers, first responders and community members who want to expand their knowledge and skills. Our specialized short courses cover trauma support, crisis intervention, suicide prevention, grief and bereavement, domestic violence, hospital care, victim support, emergency-scene response and many other important areas. Courses are available online, allowing students to study at their own pace, in their own place, with no time limit. Classroom training and practical workshops are also available through our training centers across South Africa. Each course is designed to provide focused knowledge and practical skills that can be applied in real-life situations. Chaplaincy SA Short Courses equip individuals to respond with compassion, confidence, professionalism and hope when people need support most.

EMS CHAPLAINCY COURSE
Supporting people through emergency and crisis.

The EMS Chaplaincy Course introduces students to the role of a chaplain in emergency medical settings. It focuses on offering calm, compassionate spiritual and emotional support to emergency medical personnel, patients and their families during difficult and stressful situations.

Students explore how to listen with care, communicate respectfully and respond appropriately to people experiencing trauma, loss or uncertainty. The course also highlights confidentiality, professional conduct, personal boundaries and the importance of respecting each person’s beliefs and choices.

EMS chaplains serve in a supportive role and work within their training, appointment and the procedures of the emergency service or organisation. Chaplaincy does not replace medical care or give a chaplain authority over emergency operations.

This course is suited to people who feel called to serve emergency medical communities and who want to develop the knowledge and skills needed to provide considerate support in challenging circumstances. Training format and practical opportunities may vary by programme.r
